Poll on interior color
Ok...I'll keep it simple for an open air roadster...which would you prefer....Light or Dark....please feel free to embellish your vote with your thoughts on the pluses and minuses of each choice...

interior color
I have a 2000 996 cab that is triple black (black exterior black interior, black roof). it is very hard to keep black paint clean. I use Zaino and wash it every week, but two days later the dust is very visible. Black interior, on the other hand, is the way to go. It looks good, wears well, able to withstand my kids and my wife who love to eat in my car. My previos car was silver with black interior 1998 E430. after 3 years interior looked almost like new eventhough i would drove my 95 lb dog on the back seat occasionaly.

The 2-tone AMG interior works for me. I don't like the black/red 2-tone, but the charcoal and light grey looks hot. See previously posted photo:

Does anybody know what the combo is called in the picture interior picture above?
Anybody think a black interior will be too hot in the summer with the top down??
the only convertible I have owned was a '56 T bird...interior was two tone Black and White....black seats got really hot sometimes..
My SL will be one of the darker colors...the Red/charcoal is out....so it would be between the two tone Charcoal...and the two tone Ash?....Stone?....or whatever they will call the Alpaca in the US..
Anyone have an Ash interior now?...How is maintenance?
Has anyone out there seen an alpaca AMG interior???
Has anyone out there seen the AMG charcoal interior on the SL 55?...What color is the stitching etc....
I usually prefer a dark interior...I hope that with the SL 55 they are including contrasting stitching....something to spark it up.
My biggest concern is that the dark interior will be too hot with the top down....or that the light interior will be maintenance nightmare.....but this car will be for fun only
....no food and no dogs!!!!

i picked light b/c i think it would be too hot w/ the top down. (if it wasn't a convertible, i would have chosen dark.
but having seen those wonderous pics linked above, wow!
i love that charcoal, silver? color combo.
there is a good article on the SL55 in Merc Enthusiast. explains some of their performance choices.
