05 SL600 Check Engine Light
Hope someone can help. I have an 05 SL600 37K miles Check Engine light with random misfires on the driver side bank of cylinders....coil module? spark plugs? had the dealr change all of it (both sides). Drove it 20 miles after picking it up, came right back on same codes.
What else could it be?
ECU?

You are far more likely to get a constructive response if you post this problem on the Tech Help forum at www.peachparts.com. There a professional M-B tech will probably read your post and may reply to it.

Did you figure out what it was? I am getting the exact same code, haven't taken it to the mechanic yet. All my spark plugs are brand new. Also 05 sl600.
Thanks in advance, your response might save me time and $$

V12 misfires can be caused by a coil pack or the Voltage Transformer/Ignition Control Unit.
There's a wealth of V12 ignition information, as well as rebuilt/improved parts, available at v12icpack.com .

Also - did you replace the spark plug/coil boots when you replaced the spark plugs? You really should replace the boots with new plugs. If a boot has even a tiny tear in it the current will jump to the outer coil sleeve, causing misfires.
The thing to keep in mind is that these coil packs are a bit delicate - they can easily be damaged during removal, so even though a new set of boots costs a bit extra they're worth it just to make sure you minimize coil pack removal/re-installation.
