Pioneer AVIC-X910BT... has anybody installed it?
Hello everybody!
This is my first post on this great site...
I own an 05 SL500 and was never happy with the command system. Looking to install an aftermarket unit with bluetooth, nav, DVD, rear camera, well... all the goodies!![Smilie](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/smile.gif)
Has anybody installed the "Pioneer AVIC-X910BT""?
I am extremely impressed with its features!!
At least, what is shown on this web site: http://www.pioneerelectronics.com/PU...=features&id=0
Please let me know your feedback since I am concerned about the steering wheel functions not working properly as well as the CD changer.
Thanks for responding!!

Well, since you asked, no. I would not go to the trouble or the expense. I do not see the SL as the type of car you spend all your time modding. Now a Corvette on the other hand would be. However, I suppose when one gets sufficiently down in value that messing up the mod would not appreciably lower its value further it might make sense. I would just not bother.

Command Center
I have an 04 55 and the command center is not my favorite thing on the car.
I have seen postings done by SRQLAW and AMGFAN which have both spent a bit on doing the full up grades and getting the right harness to be able integrate the new unit correctly.
I like your choice and would go with that myself.
Good Luck

Mike,
Great head unit, a friend has one in his Acura, did you also look at the Kenwood unit, forgot the model number but one is very similar to the Pioneer. As far as the steering wheel controls go, with the SL, you should be able to control volume, and stations, as far as the readout goes in the dash, it won't work. Pioneer makes an interface as well as there are some aftermarket units out there. I believe that Schoshe (sp?) makes one.
Since you're in Miami, you should be able to contact one of the high end custom car stereo install shops and find the right interface.
Send us some pictures once you've got the project complete.
Best of luck to you!
