Whats the best way to clean and condition the bulb connections

Hi all
On cold and wet days i seem to be getting a couple of random bulb out error messages, most noticeably the right side license plate bulb. The computer tells me its off most of the time but now and then it will just start working again or be on anyway so the issue is a random one. It was happening to my left side dipped beam headlight but that seems to have gone away.
Anyway, whats the best procedure for cleaning the contacts so the bulbs arent causing me issues and is there any contact grease etc i can use to prevent damp and maintain a sound contact ?.

Im going to replace the bulbs but dont want to do that then allow damp and or bad connections give me issues still.

Thanks

Carl

Have used small amount, coating, of Dow Corning silicone grease in the past. Doesn't help with contact but will reduce the corrosion in the sockets that are the probable cause of some of these problems. Hope this helps.
