Brake pedal vibration - help

Hi all

From time to time i get a vibration feedback through the brake pedal when breaking to a stop. The braking of the car doesnt feel poor and the fluid was changed 12 months ago wih new discs and pads just before xmas by a MB dealer so i assume both of these things are ruled out ?.

Anyone any ideas ?.

Thanks

Carl

SBC pump, totally normal. With the car running, pump the brake pedal 3 times and hold it down on the 4th. Is that the noise you're talking about? If so, SBC pump. There is a TSB out that will greatly reduce the sound caused by that pump.

You started another thread asking about a pump noise when unlocking the car. It's the same pump making that noise as well. It's the SBC pump charging the system.

The noise i refer to in my other post appears to be the SBC pump waking up so to speak. The brake vibration feels like a pulse type feedback from the brake pedal at times. Its not bad and i dont think braking has been affetced it just seems strange.

Does the recall reduce the noise then ?.

Here in the UK i have read about SBC recalls and whilst i have no record of the recalls being done MB UK say my car has no outstanding recalls. perhaps they mean unless i ask LOL.

Thanks

Carl

It's not a recall, it's a TSB. It should be available for any year with SBC. It's like that for my W211, at least.

I spoke to MB UK about this and they said that my SL had the TSB done back in 2005 but the pump is still noisy. Is there anything i can do to make it better ?.

Thanks

I'm having the same problem. I'd like to ask my Dealer about it, but here's a rookie qn, what's a TSB and what's the significance of one? Thks.
