Hi
I just picked up a brand-new UK SL55, and I there's no miles/km setting in the menus, and I therefore can't switch. The km/h speed is displayed above the digital mileage reading in the left hand display.
Although i'm not too worried about this, i'll take it down the dealer before it reaches 100miles and get them to swop it to "Rest Of World" and see if it gives me the menu item back.
[NB, this one has a silly seat belt warning beep, very annoying]
Cheers
Richard

Was it an import or UK supplied.
Uk supplied cars should NOW have the row switch as a standard item.
What happenned to your last car? Interested in the trade-in details, perhaps PM me.

Richard,
As far as I'm concerned the static digital KPM readout which never dissapears above the mileage display and below the MPH analogue dial is correct and the optimal solution. The problem which started this thread was that ealier UK SL cars did not have this and it was therefore IMPOSSIBLE to tell how fast you were going in KPH. Which is pretty crap if you ttravel abroad.
Personally I have no need for both an analogue and digital MPH readout. Are you saying that this is now switchable from KPH-MPH ?

Ok, been to the dealer and played with StarDiagnosis.
Switching the cluster to RestOfWorld (or MiddleEast) does not give me the ability to switch between Miles and KM. That functionality seems to be gone from the MPH cluster.
Switching to RoW (from UK) means that the little km/h display disappears and is replaced by the trip counter. I had hoped the mph->kmh switching menu would have appeared aswell.
I didnt have time to see what happened with all the other settings (US, Canada, MiddleEast, Sweden etc, UK, Rest-of-World, and some I cant remember), apart from seeing that MiddleEast didnt give me the switching function
I guess that Sweden disables the ability to select the driving light mode (daytime running light mode or not)
Cheers
