2004 sl500 roof problem

I have a 2004 SL500. The side flap on the passenger side droops when the roof when retracted. I have to hold the flap when closing the trunk lid. Spoke to the dealer and there is a kit, but the dealer says that the timing of the closing mechanism does not allow for me to do it myself. Anyone having the same problem?

Here are a couple of links from other posters -

There is a cable that drives the side flaps, it actually moves a little plate with teeth on it, which turns a gear that is attached to the flap, if you look at the point where the side flaps hinge you will see a small metal plate that houses the gear and toothed plate. The problem is that the metal plate was not made strong wnough from the factory and has probably warped causing the toothed plate to no longer make contact with the gear on the sideflap causing it to be loose. Mercedes has come out with strengthened plates to fix this problem, i would visit your local dealer and they should be able to replace them for you.

Repair kit is P/N: 230-750-01-11 List price $62.48 Install took me ~45 minutes to do both sides...
