'04 SL500, 76k Miles for $27,900

Would $27,900 be too much for an '04 SL500 with 76k miles?

What kind of maintenance cost am I looking forward to at this much mileage on the car?

Thanks!

Spend a little money at the $tealer getting an inspection report.
This will give you an idea of how much there is to spend on repairs.
Use the report to negotiate a better price.

That is way too much. For 28K you can get the same year SL55 with less miles. You should be paying 22K for that car. Are you buying from a MB dealer?

Thanks for the response guys.

Yes, it is from a MB dealership.

I am also concerned about the maintenance cost for a SL500 with this kind of mileage - do you have any idea?

Ask for full history and pay close attention to ABC related issues. Does it come with warranty? My SL55 has 74K right now and I replaced the ABC pump recently and will most likely have to replace at least one strut and possibly a valve block in the near future. All of that is costly without a warranty and is very common to break. A pump/strut/valve block is around $1500 each just in parts to give you an idea how much parts cost. Add labor on top of that and you just had $6k trip to a repair shop.

Unless U have access to an Auction the price your quoting isn't realistic for a SL55.

A car that old with 76,000 miles is going to be difficult to get an extended warranty for. I understand that after 75K miles, many extended warranty companies won't touch a car. Get one with lower miles! These cars are too expensive to own w/out a warranty.
