SL/R230: The SL has to sit outside in FLA sun, heat, rain 24/7

I'm in a townhome right now while house is under construction. Picked up a brand new condition SL that will take delivery on next week. Never driven in the rain and I feel guilty.
What do I do to protect this flawless black/black vehicle. My only guess is Huper Optik (spelling) nano-ceramic tint and a car cover and window shades. Someone said something about a white sheet??? Anyway, very concerned about melting plastics, interior seperation, fade, deterioration, cracked leather seats?
All advice is appreciated on how to armor the car to replicate "garage kept". Not sure what to do.....

Is this going to be your daily driver? If so, a good quality cover may your best option.
However, if it's not your D.D. and you have another car at your disposal, you may want to consider looking for a nearby Self Storage facility with an outside door, 10 X 15 or 10 X 20 unit.
Another possibility is to ask around the community where your new home is being built to see if any future, "new" neighbors are "seasonal". In my small community approximately 50% of the homes are seasonal folks with empty 2 car garages during the "off-season". You could contact one of them, perhaps through your real estate or builder's sales agent, to inquire if you could "rent" or "borrow" one of their empty garage spaces until your home is completed.
Whatever you decide, I wish you well because we still have more than two more months of severe summer sun and heat to deal with and I'm of the opinion that here in south Florida the only way to replicate "Garage Kept" is to keep it in a garage.![Smilie](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/smile.gif)
Good luck. Let us know what you decide.
BTW, I have the Huper Optik nano-ceramic tint on my Jaguar and I HIGHLY recommend it. There's also a product called Eclipse Sunshade for the windshield which is a great addition to the Huper Optik tint. www.EclipseSunshades.net
