sl500 project
hello from nicaragua
i am a proud owner of a 03 sl500 and planning on doing the facelift, not much help going around, but i did the same to my e320 some fanatics may say " why dond you buy the new one well i paid 180k for my car on 03 and 98k for the e320 (both fully loaded) and my older brother paid 240 for a sl55 , and with elections and the economy right now in nicaragua is better to do the conversion then to purshase a new one, plus people always coute 25 k for a conversion when i think its going to be around 10k, i did the e conversion for around 3 to 4 all new oem parts exept the bumper used at ebay!
so first is the panoramic roof 1500 at ebay and i get to sell my roof so i guess its not as expensive as they say all i need is to math the rest of the headliner, also i bought a 09 sl550 sport bumper for 1k with all its mesh fogs , bought 08 seats and doors ( i want to get rid of the grey color) and also a 08 dash for 450 i have one headlight driver side for 400 on ebay just missing one ballast , i need help with the other as i cant find the number for that one. so basiclly all black interrior and 09 sl sport conversion. ohh and i have the fenders just missing the hood, one question if i have a sl63 hood will it fit on the sport bumper? both fender and hood are 63 and the bumper is sport
have the kleeman headers and supersprint cats on the way!

update conversion
so i finished the whole intirior , changed it to a black 08 sl ( adios grey color) i have everything for the extirior ( facelift conversion ) except one headlight but ill post pic of everything once install, the kleemann headers and supersprint cats sound amazing, just looking for a used rear amg exhaust, and who ever said it takes more than 20 k for the conversion its not true, i paid 999.00 on ebay for a used ( like new) bumper and came with fogs mesh and all the inner foam support, 400 for the front grill , 440 for the headlight ( no ballast ) 690 hood sl63 (not oem fiberglass) the fender where 600 also fiberglass i think they are made bye sorona (dont remember the name on the back sticker, 1200 kleemann header 1100 for super sprint cats. i spend alot more updating the interiro black seats door covers dash etc etc, all oem and like new condition

some progress
some progress, this conversion is is not dificult at all, the w211 was way more dificult with all the bits and parts, the only thing beside hood bumper grill and fender is the lower support for the headlight and that is it! i has a diagram for the headlights planning on using the old module and running the wires to the new headlights

good spanish, i have a question about the powerchip, is it like a piggy back or do you have to send you ecu? i have a kleemann header and supersprint cats, and it doas make a big diference but i know ecu tune would help, but here in nicaragua there are no ecu tunning shop and im not sure about sending the ecu, nice ride ( sl55) and all the guddie it has sl55 is worth 240k new so kleemann supercharger is a beter option for my sl500

done with the conversion, just need to upgrade the ecu( Via block tuner ) kleemann cams on its way and supercharger in the future, headers and supersprint cats on!
