Replace TPMS Sensors w/ New Tires?
Next month I'll need a new set of tires for my 06 SL500, and I'm wondering if I should also replace all 4 TPMS sensors - as preventive maintenance?
Is the correct part # for the valve stem/TPMS sensor: 0014014213 ?

I got about 6 years life from my first set of sensors so if you are replacing all the tyres, it makes sense to replace all the sensors if they about this age or will be within the lifetime of the tyres. Replacing the sensors of course requires the tyres to come off so it's a hassle if you just put new tires on recently.
Besides, the TPMS give host of different errors as the batteries fail, every time you start the engine. So, what you have done makes sense.

Garage Temporarily Empty
They really do die after about 5-6 years....battery goes and that's it.
I would replace them while the tires are coming off, rather than replacing the tires and in 2 months, the sensor/s die anyway. Then your doing the same tire removal a second time.

Just to clarify: I will replace the OEM tires later this month, and will install the new TPMS sensors at the same time. I had planned to do this last month, but the tires still had a decent amount of "meat" on them for another month of use.

TPMS & Tires - Update
Replaced the OEM tires yesterday with Michelin Pilot Sport A/S Plus, which normally have a 45,000 mile teadwear warranty. However, I learned yesterday that since the SL front and rear tires are of different sizes (can't rotate the tires), the Michelin warranty covers the front tires for the full 45,000 miles, but the rear tires are covered for only half that distance.
Also replaced all the TPMS sensors and the TPMS system re-activated with no issues at all.
My 06 SL500 is 5yrs old w/19,500 miles - as a gauge for your tires and TPMS sensors.
