Proud new owner of an SL 600 with questions
I recently just acquired a 2005 SL 600 and I wanted to know what options there were or were recommended for performance upgrades.
My intentions were as follows: K&N/Green Air Filters, exhaust modification, ECU tuning, and perhaps larger intercoolers as a last option.
Questions are as follows: 1. Is there anything I'm missing or recommendations the board suggests? 2. What exhaust mod is recommended? Ive see a few muffler deletes, which I'm assuming mean you take of the muffler all together. Wouldn't it be enough to remove just say, the resonator and/or secondary cat? Any insight would be greatly appreciated.

best advice i can give on the exhaust mod is gutting the mufflers,u will get a perfect sound not too loud but just perfect.it will sound identicle to an sl65.
slice the muffler in half and remove the pipe with holes and replace it with a straight one. all the best

So you're suggesting to replace the pipe in the muffler, not do a complete delete into a straight pipe?
