SL/R230: EasyCare Question

EasyCare Question
On an 2008 SL550 out of warranty... MB inspection revealed a broken strut in the ABC Strut System...called EasyCare and it turns out they cover the ABCS Strut System, but NOT the strut itself (which is the problem in this case)! Repair is north of $2000, and none of it is covered by the Total Care version of EasyCare....Have others had similar experiences? Wondering what people think of EasyCare versus other third party warranty options for cars out of factory warranty??

I have Easy Care Total Care (they have been very good to me). In the policy it states: they will cover the MacPherson strut housing not including shock absorber or insert. So in other words, if the internals are leaking the will not cover it. I would suggest Arnott if you have to pay out of pocket.

Easy Care- Are People Happy with the Coverage?
Thanks for the response...I'm trying to figure out if what "typically" breaks on the 2008 SL550 will be covered by EasyCare...AND is the MB Extended Warranty really much better (in which case buying a car that is still under Factory Warranty would be a better, albeit more expensive, option...). My impression is that for cars that are NOT under warranty Easy Care is what most MB buyers purchase...
For example...I see "lower camshaft seal replaced" on a few CarFax reports--Is that covered by Easy Care? How about Motor Mounts-- I've seen a few posts in which those needed to be tightened to correct vibration problems.. How about the roof retraction system?
