Question regarding the availability of the LE and options, more
My dealer just contacted me asking that I contact him regarding options and colors. He sent what appears to be an option sheet which was revised in July of 2001. It lists the codes and optional equipment available. Some of the items I am not familiar with like the Distronic, Parktronic, Panorama Roof, and B-Xeon lights. Also is a navigational system standard? This is not an option showing on the sheet sent to me.
Regarding color, the sheet he sent me looks to have been from a August 2001 revision with a Diamond Silver & Aegean Blue as new colors. Is anyone familiar with these or perhaps a site I could go to see them? I was planning Brilliant silver with the ash interior.
Also do you know if the Launch Edition is something that would be available if I requested it? Until signing onto this board I did not even realize that there was an LE.
Last April I received my 01 CLK 430 which I had on order since September 1999. I placed my name on order for the SL Spring of 2000 thinking that if I did not like the CLK I would trade out of it. At the time there were far more people on a list that could not yet be entered into the computor ordering system at the dealership than there were after 9-11. In November I was told that I was #9 on the dealers list, so I then came to realize that I would be one of the first here to receive one rather than receiving one in 2004.
My wife and I have decided to keep the CLK and trade in the 95 S320 that she now drives. The CLK was loaded up with every option and has been a great car. The voice activated part of the telephone, and the navigational comand system are the only two and of course the most costly items, yet we don't often use them. So if these werre not stnds with the SL I don't believe that I would order them. We like th Xenon lights although they are just the single lights on the CLK so I was'nt sure if that is what they mean with the BI-Xenon light option being all front head lamps.
Does anyone know where I could go to see a photo of an LE and a list of what is included on it? Also are there any sites with an updated list of the options along with details of them and pricing that I could go to.

Regarding the availability of an LE right now, its not looking too good. I could be wrong, but your best bet would be to look at larger dealers who will be receiving more LE's. If you really like the LE and can't find one new, I'm sure that you will be able to pick up a low-mileage LE come the end of summer as people may be trading them in when the SL55's start shipping.
