recent 05 sl500 purchase
I recently purchased an 05 sl500 for $28,500 with 33500 miles. It had a sticker price of $110,000 to include designo graphite edition, AMG sport package, parktronic & keyless go, and comfort package. Also fairly new tires, brakes and batteries. Finally an extended warranty good till June of 2013. Wondering if I got a decent deal. My first post, thanks guys.

Sounds like a great deal.
If you want a little more reassurance, just go drive an SLK, which would sell for just a few thousand less -- no comparison!
Just be sure to keep up on the maintenance and try to do as much on it yourself as you can

'05 500sl
Same car
SoCalMan, I also just (2/20) bought an 05 with pano, AMG , sport. Mine has 36K miles and I paid 26,5 but it came with 2 issues uncovered when "Visit Workshop" light came on during test drive. I got a PPI so feel Ok about the repairs and think I got it close to auction price (they wanted 33k).. I have replaced trunk shocks and rear strut (shock) at my trusted inde. I love the car. It drives well and is quick when I get on it and is an upgrade from my clean 96 SL. I just hope it doesn't put me in the poorhouse here in SWFlorida.
Bought 3yrs warranty through USAA/Assurant also.
Lets talk as we put on the miles and things break. I need someone to vent to as my wife has no sympathy or tolerance for me spending on cars.
funny thing.. I drove 2 05SL's when I visited my kids at Christmas time in SoCal, one was in Monterey Park and one in Laguna Bch.
