OK, new shop did tests on it and found that some of the fuel injectors were not working properly. a scanner or monitor shows how long they are open, something like that. he tapped on the injectors that were giving the erratic signal and they straightened out. Put 2 bottle of Lucas fuel injector cleaner in the tank. it has lube in for the injectors. said it could happen that after the injector cleaning service a small piece of dirt could be causing the issue. will see if it stays away.

Sounds like an easy fix. We had a fuel injector stuck open (V12) which made the car un-driveable. $1700 to fix
My rough idle is finally gone, I discovered that after I unplug (cable & vacuum hose) from the EGR valve and didn't make the engine shake wors. Got a new one from napa $159.00 and about an hour of work to replace the valve. Also replaced 4 inches of vacuum hose that connect from EGR valve to the intake manifold. I hope this solution will save time, money and frustration to anyone having the same issue. I expend about $900 before I got it right and many visits to the shop.
Eclipse1976 is your idle still good? I am still trying different things to smooth mine. I took off all the injectors and took them to a injector cleaning place in town. they ultrasonic cleaned, tested hot and cold, ect injectors are perfect they said. It cost 120 total. better than 120 per injector to replace. Still same issue. each time I take it to a shop its good for a couple days. I believe they are cleaning the mass air. I sprayed 2 cans of carb cleaner around the intake and vacuum lines but no rise in idle. no leaks. I did spray a quick burst above the mass air. idle got better for a couple miles. ordered new mass air. waiting for it to arrive. searching the forums, it looks like a common problem for MB. has anyone figured it out and had the problem go away permnantly? some searches resulted in bad exhaust vavles/heads.
I am so pissed that it ran fine before I took it to MB for B service!! I dont know what they did to mess it up but its dissapointing for a car with 30k miles
new mass air same issue. took it back to the dealer. ac compressor was bad, replaced still same issue. I do notice that coming off a highway drive it will take a few seconds for it to happen. stop and go traffic it starts right away. It is a lot less when ac is on. any suggestions?
