Looking to replace the existing center console wood trim in my 03 SL55 with an aluminum trim.

The photo shows what I am looking for..

Can anyone help?

Take it off, spray it metallic silver, clear coat it and replace it! Your cost, 10 bucks and 2 hrs of your time including drying time! Now go and get a Big steak dinner out of the $300 bucks I just saved you!!! )

Your welcome. I did it myself and it looked amazing! Brighter than factory I wish I would have kept pictures, anyhow good luck and post pics of the finished product.

and you did not have any problems with the paint chipping.

Was worried it might look like someone spray painted a statue or something awful..

No problems at all. Just make sure you lightly sand the trim to take off the shine. Spray light even coats of the paint back and forth in a left to right and right to left quick sweeping motion. Since most spray paints nowadays are quick drying you can do several coats in no time! A few coats of 3M clear after the paint seals the paint and prevents chipping, fading or scratching. I used high gloss and it looked waaay better than factory! It will not look like a do it yourself job but beware, after this upgrade, everything you look at In the car you'll be ready to paint! LoLoL

Yes I concur, does look awesome. The silver one is that wrapped with carbon fiber? If so how hard was that?
