My SL 500 is 8 years old, and I only complete about 1000 miles a year - it has missed the A service by 3 months now, in the meantime, if i change the oil, will missing the service really matter?

The A service pretty much is an oil change. The rest is just inspections they charge you a bunch of money for. You are paying to have somebody tell you your tire pressures and how much tread you have left and to look at your air filter. Things you ought to be doing yourself. If you drive your car that little, I'd put the money elsewhere, like make sure your brake fluid had been flushed in the last couple years.

I assume your car is basically the same as mine, but I don't know for sure. You might try a search of "reset service indicator" in your forum. If yours does work like mine, there is a how to guide near the top of the page in the w209 CLK forum. Basically it's a "secret" menu in your center cluster you access. Not hard.
