I don't know if any of the websites out there offering factory parts would be able to help out without a stupid amount of shipping, but I know that my cost to the MB store in our dealer group was 700 or so.

it wouldn't be a bad idea to see if you couldnt get in touch with a body shop to see if they would help you get one on their account without MB raping you

if you were a short trip from Lincoln, NE I could probably help out, but by the time I get this thing shipped I don't think it is going to save you much. The shipping on these things is a huge expense just because it has such a big awkward footprint

I ordered those two part numbers you told me from parts.com . I asked the dealer to confirm that part number for the bumper is for a bumper without parktronic, they confirmed that. But lets just say I dont trust them as far as I can throw them.
Can someone confirm?

take some before and after pics and share if you can.
let me know what hurdles pop up.
Say what you must about revozport, but in my opinion they have the best looking read diffuser available.

I received both pieces in tact.
They were wrapped in like a foam and boxes were well labelled as to not put load or heavy things on them. I could see however how they would get damaged if somewhere along the way someone was rough with them. Nonetheless they got here in tact. Dropping car of Friday at body shop. Had parts.com bumper and absorber shipped directly to them. Don't have a timeline on that yet hopefully no delay. Won't be back for 3 weeks. So hopefully bumper arrives soon and it's all done when I return.

got tracking numbers from parts.com, parts will be delivered by Tuesday. Not sure who had asked on stock with them for bumper and absorber, but it seems a non issue with parts.com

2007 SL55
Please share part numbers, etc
I'm doing the same rear bumper (SL55 to SL63) conversion.
Already have the Revozport diffuser. got it last year. It was $1500.
Also dealt with Ken. I had no issues at all. Came in perfect in roughly 3 weeks.
My understanding is that I just need an SL63 rear bumper for my SL55.
part number A23088535259999 (roughly 1K)
also an energy absorbing unit A2308851465 ($130 or so)
I was told that most of the other connectors and rear bumper parts are plug and play between the SL55 and SL63.
Please advise if that is not the case and if anything else is needed.
what do you guys mean "extend the tips slightly"......is this something that the body shop will be able to easily do?
thanks

Got this email from body shop. Anyone have any insight?
Told them 2009 as reference.
We have hit a little hiccup in reassembly. Your SL55 side bumper brackets do not properly mount the SL63 bumper. We have called Jackie Cooper to order SL63 side mounting brackets, but there are a few different part numbers to choose from, depending on which production date the SL63 is. In your research, have you read any information on possibly having to replace the side mounting brackets? If so, would you be able to locate them? Or find part numbers so I can order them?

This will be a little off topic but I figured you guys can answer my question:
Will a 09-11 SL63 diffuser fit a 2010 SL550 or would I have to get a SL63 bumper as well?
Note: The SL550 is equipped with the AMG package.

To answer some of your questions, the SL550/SL63 are the same exact bumper minus the diffuser. In my SL63 conversion as I stated, I only needed to change the middle bracket and kept my sides. I'm gonna stop by my body shop today as my car is almost done with the full facelift conversion and I will check my file just to be sure.

Bumper and diffuser are on, not sure what brackets they ordered, however I will see them on the bill when I get back into town in a week or so.
They will be adjusting exhaust after the long weekend.

my sl55 is getting this done first week of June.
As you recall I shared the bumper and shock absorber part numbers. I was not aware of any other parts that are needed. I was advised that the connectors on the rear sl55 and sl63 bumpers should be the same.
Please let me know if you (or your shop) needed to get something else to make it work. If so, please share the part numbers. I would need to order asap.
your end result looks great!!! same color on my 07 SL55 so I have a glimpse of what it will end up looking like.
did you have the exhaust pulled out a little yet?

I will call them Tuesday to get the part numbers for any other parts they got. They are taking it to a Midas on Tuesday to adjust exhaust. Is it a matter of pulling exhaust out a bit? Anyone have a good pic of what the exhaust should look like
