SL/R230: No v6 please

No v6 please
I would definitely much prefer that the sl be kept to a minimum of 500. I would hate to see a fellow sl owner be honked at for lack of velocity. The "s" in SL designation is sport and i can see little sport in a 4000+ lbs sumo powered by 6 cylinders. That is like a civic with 5 passengers all the time! (hp to weight ratio i mean) it is funny how in europe, MB makes itty bitty engines available for some of their cars.

Rules are a little bit different in Europe
Even I do agree on maintening the ratio HP/weight heathly enough, The V6 will exist at least in Europe, with a 3.5 liters with something like 270-280HP, so not so far from the 306 of the actual 5 liters.
Note: The 5 liters will certainly disapears to go to the 5.5liters with around 360HP+

SL was originally for the German "Sehr Leicht" (Very Light) but when the cars were brought to market, they were referred to as Sport Leicht" (Sport light) since they were not "very" light. "
