older R230, how much $$ for common repairs
I realize that asking about warranties is a common question (and everyone just seems to say to get one), but I have not seen specific $$ amounts for repairs.
I'm wondering if it's worth it to get a $6k 3/36 extended warranty (reputable company) on a 2006 model with around 60k miles. Now obviously this is considered insurance by the companies issuing the warranties, so the company likely considers them to be low frequency / high severity events.
The relatively common problems that I've seen relate to the struts & ABC system, perhaps another computer system, and the roof. Assuming the most common problems for these (not a very rare catastrophic occurrence), how much are the repairs at a good independent mechanic?
Anything that I've left off which is a common problem (e.g. intercooler pump goes bad every 40k miles, and costs $500 to replace), please add on as well.

Just from my experience (1 year ownership) the "common" R230 problems can rack up a huge tab. I just had two ABC struts replaced and a new ABC pump and that totaled just over $7K with labor. Although that was the most severe incident I've experience, some of the issues are fairly easy to repair yourself if you're good with DIY projects.

Woow...OMG.. $7000 to replaced 2 ABC stuts and a ABC pump ..yikes ...you must have gone to Stealership correct ? I only spent about $600 for front and rear ABC valve blocks and left rear ABC stut plus $60 for Pentosin oil and 25 for filter.I perform the labor myself its a DIY job. I got all parts used on eBaY.
