The number of tips on an exhaust system does not directly affect performance. It affects sound output-tone!
Exhaust note is tuned based upon the number of outlets, inside diameter of the outlets, type of forward resonators in the system, and the length of the final chrome tip assemblies. I have over 30 years experience with this having previously designed very advanced and effective free flow exhaust systems.
Performance enhancements come from the system design. If it's not correctly designed, all you will get is a difference in exhaust note. Many so called "free flow exhaust systems" sold today are very poorly designed and actually offer little actual horsepower improvements. They do give a different "tone" and many people will erroneously equate this to a HP gain! It is not.
Building an exhaust system of stainless steel has no effect upon system performance either. So, don't be fooled and pay the ridiculous prices.
You can e-mail me, and I can give you some advice as well as an upcoming very special free flow exhaust product line you should be aware of.
