Available '04 SL600 !
Hi guys,
Keil here, your inside source for the latest from Mercedes-Benz.
We have a '04 SL600 twin turbo being built this month that is available.
I also have an open spot to build an SL500 to spec in October.

Allright I'll bite (and show my ignorance), what the heck is a "bluetooth' phone?
As far as I know the answers are no, no and no. (sorry)
The "official release date for '04s is 09/15. At which point I can start to get some answers for you regarding the '04s.

Bluetooth technology is a wireless technology, allowing, in this case, the cell phone and the car's CPU to communicate wirelessly. It allows one to send and recieve cell phone calls through the handsfree car system, without having to connect the handheld unit into its cradle.
The 04 Lexus LS430 will have bluetooth phone.
Im dissapointed that the 04SL wont have DVD nav, otherwise I would trade up to an SL600 in a heart beat....

I know Mercedes is always at the forefront of the actual automotive technology, i.e.: active suspension, electrohydralic brakes, pre-safe etc. but lags behind on the ancillary technology i.e.: stereo, phones, nav etc. Sorry, I don't engineer them I just sell them.

5.5 liter twin turbo V-12 engine: 493 HP @ 5,000 RPM, 590 ft. lbs. of torque from 1,800 to 3,500 RPM. Hello! Pull some stumps? Plow a field?
VS. the SL55: the HP is the same, but the AMG V8 peaks at 6,100 RPM the V-12 produces the same HP at 5,000!
Then the torque: 590 @ 1,800 RPM VS. 516 @ 2,750 from the V8!
The delivery of seamlessly smooth acceleration from any road speed is the intent of the 600 vs. a more racous (sp?), rev-it-up nature of the AMG.
As in the CL600 and S600 the car comes with almost every option: comfort seats, voice activated phone, bi-xenons, wood wheel and shifter, all of which options on an SL55.

Will the SL 600 have a leather dash like the S600?
Standard Dynamic Seating? DVD Nav? Can the Napa leather upgrade be obtained in the Designo Black rather than the two tone charcoal that I have in my 03 SL500. Engine aside, I would like to sense that I was in a upgraded interior for the price difference...btw, what will the sticker be?

All 03 SL's have leather dash's, just like the all US CL's (in Europe it's actually an upgrade). Only the S-class reserves leather dashboards for the 600 as it always has been the cheapest high-end Mercedes model.
With the upgraded leather, you wil just have napa leather, but it is two-tone as all of them.
Actually, I like the trim options of the S-class in Europe where they offer leather-alcantara interior trim on dash and doors...

2002 S430, 2001 ML 55, SL 55 on order
in canada at least all the info on the sl600 is on the website.
below are the prices and options. the base price is about 11000 more than the sl55 and the option list is not much different. i still like my sl 55 compared to an sl600 which optioned out how i like would be about 20000. more. ( all prices in canadian dollars).
