SL/R230: ABC to Coilovers conversion: The Ultimate FAQ

FYI;
VVK R230 SL500 front bar is very large diameter
Can’t say enough their fit and finish
They are worth the cost and I have no affiliation with them either

I strongly suggest using VVK set over the RMT bar because the rear bar on RMT uses the OE 350 rear bar which is significantly smaller than the VVK And the mounts on the VVK are much stronger. Don’t forget the cost. The RMT set is too close in price for the lesser sized and smaller mounted set.
Its best benefit is aimed at those in a hurry
In the big picture you can buy mismatched bars or get the best out there. It pays to get matching Fr &Rr sway bars in a car with a decent level of control and quality
Like many people here I struggled with the $ figure but it all came down to the value and I’m glad I did

With sway bars and handling it's matching or balancing both Fr & Rr to a car. The rear factory bar is quite small so even though you are increasing the roll resistance in the front you can also cause a tail happy car by leaving a small bar in the rear.
Again I'm not affiliated with VVK but the front bar is 30mm and the rear is 20mm which is likely larger and more matched than using a standard SL350 Rr and the RM front
What many forget is as good as a single large front sway bar is; a better handling RWD car sports a hefty rear sway balancing out the front to keep the rear from stepping out

New here, new to MB, don't even actually own one yet, but I'm considering buying an SL55. Since I'd plan to keep it for a very long time, I'd be planning to delete the ABC as I've read up on this topic and it seems that a lot of people have done it and are very happy. I do wonder however, if VVK and their products are still available. Looks like I'm not the only one who's having a hard time reaching them, and since I'm in Europe it's not really an option to pop over to them
So can you guys confirm that they are still in business and the conversion kit is available, and works as advertised? (Or if there are any alternatives worth mentioning...I'd prefer something that is designed, fabricated and tested for the exact car..)Thanks!

I removed all the ABC parts and installed KW coilovers kit , please direct me to who coded your system as I have multiple faults for ABC and SBS brake system which we cant get cleared. regards CHarl
1) What PS could you install in your SL600 or SL65 AMG when performing a coilover conversion? It seems every video on YT is about either SL500 or SL55 AMG. They are using a PS pump from ML55 that fits perfectly. I'm not sure but I suppose V12 cars have different geometry and different mounts for PS pump. So I wonder if there is a solution for V12 cars where you can only have a single PS pump instead of tandem pump?
2) I haven't figured out if I need anti-sway bars or not (I know there is a thread about it and I'll read it) but they say you need a new engine mounts in order to provide enough clearance. So I wonder what could happen if you install the sway bars but later your engine mounts degrade? Will sway bar push against something and even crack it?
Thank you.
