Ended up at a dealer today and considering a 2012 SL550R purchase. Diamond White Stone Beige leather with 1.200 miles. $85K plus TT. Est $4.3k for ext warranty (6 yrs ODP or 100k miles) They had a 2014 on the lot same color which I loved, but this 2012 would have to be ordered/auctioned and it is dealer certfied. Now that I've goggled I see a definite difference in body style from the 2014. Original MSRP was $103,650 with options taking it up to $112,115 excluding delivery and gas tax. So its loaded yes, but with change in body style and total cost should I hold out for the 2013s to come off lease? Is this a fair, good, fantastic deal? Anything I should be wary of if purchasing a used SL? Didn't realize the handouts don't have the VIN. Seems they should've given me that too. All opinions welcomed. Please let me know what you think. I'm not sure, but the 2012 model year should be an R231. Looking at pictures I don't see a big difference between a 2012 and 2014 SL, and I doubt you'll see $40K in depreciation on a 2013.

Depends on you, but my guess is there's some wiggle room on the price and a little haggling might get you a better deal. You can also shop around for a better deal on the extended CPO warranty - there's a fair profit margin on the extended CPO warranty and there are dealers willing to sell you an extended warranty at a lower price.

Thanks PDJV..I posted here because I thought R231 was for 2013 - 2014 SL models. Hate car buying and haggling. I felt like ext warranty estimate was high as I had previously read posts here. Just not comfortable buying this sight unseen but if they'll bring it to the dealership to touch and feel and get the price closer to what I now have in mind, maybe I can posts some pics soon. Seriously ..Everyone wish me luck.
