2009 SL63 Amg heat from transmission area
Hi all
I posted this in another forum also
I purchased a 09 sl 63 Amg and when the top is down I get heat generated from the transmission area. It also warms up by the ashtray and side panels. It gets worse the faster I go
When top is closed I have no warmth coming from the area
Car has been to 2 dealers and both claim. Nothing is wrong no open insulation or anything
I am extremely uncomfortable driving with the top open
Again when top is closed the cabin is pressurized and no temp issues
I don't know what go do at this point

Sorry to hear of your problem. Can't be of help to you but just to let you know that I had a case against 'MB ' where the transmission gave me serious trouble and almost cost my wife and my life as we were exiting our entrance with a car coming and we were almost 'taken out' . MB are known to have serious problems with their automatic transmissions. I was able to prove that one in every three SL with a 722.6 transmission was problematic since 1996. Quite a staggering statistic. I secured this information from an independent MB specialist. All I want to say to you don't rely on the transmission to perform for you by, say, entering fast traffic in case it lets you down. Quite a scary experience . Be careful.
