Bluethooth and Cell Phones

Just check out this link. Too bad we can't get MB to do this on the US cars. In Europe they have the UHI interface which is essentially the same thing:

Hi, next January I will have my new SL500 with UHI. UHI needs a wire for power, antena and Comand interface, Bluetooth is cordeless but has its own bluetooth phone (for S and CL class), you can use pda´s, note books not bluetooth phones on Mercedes bluetooth systems

heard (from an often-reliable source) that MB has put a hold on all new S-class cars coming into the 'ports' as of now, so as to install a 'new cable' system (presumably the one you're talking about) which will work with bluetooth and GSM phones. Not at all sure about any details, or whether the SL series is having this as well.

I do have another SL55 coming in a week or two (not sure that I'll take it; as my '03 is really quite perfect) and I just deleted the V60 phone (could put it back in if that's a mistake), because while I have it in the '03, it seems rediculous, if TDMA technology also is going away later next year (as I heard, regarding AT&T wireless anyway; also not sure about that).

I would enjoy hearing if any of you guys heard these stories too.
