Keyless Go.

Anyway of getting rid of that annoying keyless go alarm when getting out of the car "remember to remove key".

Also when putting the top down are only the rear windows supposed to go down?

Just got the car

since i dont have a SL, i cant answer anything about the window thing, but the the keyless go, just hit one of the menu buttons on the steering wheel which will turn it off

BTW, how does the SL and sc430 compare? what handles better and stuff? thanks

Thanks ,bmms8.

I'm not going to knock the SC beacause it is a great car in it's own right, but since the SL has arrives it really wins hands down.

In my opinion

The SL has better handling and definately a better ride overall.
The sc has a smooth ride but you feel like your fillings are going to come out when you go over a pebble.( the run flates maybe the culprit). While the SC had DVD nav I found it utterly useless because once the car hit 5mph it would lock you out of the controls so even the passenger couldn't use it.
The SL seats are so much more comfortable than the SC's (my SL has the multi contour seats).
I love the torque on the SL and the exhaust compared to the SC.

It sounds like I'm knocking the SC but I truly think it's a good car it's about 40K less than my SL so when putting it in that perspective overall I have no complaints...but I will be driving the SL more

Sorry for the spelling in a rush...

Only the rear windows go down when the top goes down. My dealer said it had something to do with clearance with the roof

The rear windows do initially go down to make room for the top to retract. If you continue hold the top control down after the top has fully retracted...the front windows will also go down.

All the windows can go up and down fully with the top up.

All the windows can go up and down fully with the top down.

You might have to press the window button agian for it to go down once more.

I think the SL wins it hands-down; having driven my 04' SL for four months now, I haven't had anything but "awe-inspiring" gasps and amazing comments from observers, friends, and family. Lexus DOES make an exceptionally reliable, smooth, creamy, plush vehicle, but lacks in the advanced technology and handling; not to mention, the design of the SC leaves it susceptible to those who "love it" and "hate it." Some say it is like driving an ugly egg, others think it is the product of perfection in design. I personally think you can dress it up nice, but not get the "out of the box" appeal that the SL delivers. But keep in mind, the SL is $20K to $30k more in base MSRP...maybe a comparison between the two isn't appropriate. Can't really go wrong with either, but will NEVER go wrong with the SL!

well, there's nothing in any of the menus, nor will pushing the buttons on the steering wheel make it stop, unless the door is closed.

anybody know if there's something that can be done via the service laptop tosilence the chime?

have you tried, or are you just guessing..you dont have KeylessGo, so to me its as if your trying to guess, and if you are, your wrong, the door has nothing to do with it either, if its open it will work.

no, this is no guess. this is after trying on my parents' '04 SL that's sitting in the garage. when i open the door by touching the handle, without pushing unlock on the key fob, it starts chiming and puts up the reminder about the smart key. it stops only when i close the door. nothing in the menus, nor will pushing a steering wheel button while the door is open, stop it.

There isnothing you can do about the "don't forget your key" messange.
You'll just have to get use to it.

My 2004 SL55 with Keyless Go shuts off the Chime ringing after approx. 5 minutes by itself with the door still open.

Is keyless-go really worth the money?
Seems a bit gimicky to me.

OK...yes, it's worth the money. Besides being cool as hell and incredibly convenient - never having to mess with keys...

I firmly believe that in the next few years it will become a standard feature the same way that a "clicker" key wasn't an industry standard 10 years ago and now every Ford comes with one. It's just the next evolution in that whole process.

Here's the link: http://www.mbnz.org/forums/forums/th...posts=1&fid=28

I hope this helps.
