Keyless Go key having remote issues
My keyless go key is recognized by the car for push button start and stop.
Also have working access to lock/unlock button on door handle. Have beeps
and flashing of SVM turn light when pushing unlock/lock button. What doesn't work is the auto activation of the top opening or closing from the key fob.
Also windows, if open, will not close when locking the car.
Any thoughts? Assume the battery in fob is okay since locking functions are
working.

The Benzworld forum suggested that you check the remote's batteries. Your problem could also be a failed infrared receiver in the door handle; if so, then there is a better alternative to repairing it, IMO.
For around $300 you can have a SmartTOP module that will operate the top from long range with just a few presses of the key fob -- no need to hold the control through the duration of the roof's operating cycle. Installation is simple and takes about an hour.

+1000 on the Smartop module. Essential piece of kit for the R230. Uses the RF portion of the remote to open and close the top. Bypasses the atrocious IR system used for OEM. Works out to about 50m. Highly, highly recommended.
