1/4 mile results need advice
Just thought I would post some times I got today, I was vary disappointed to say the least. This is my first time out with this car and was hoping for better number. I brought a scan guage with me to monitor my IAT's, I drove around the parking lot to bring my IAT's down to around 85-90 and then would proceed to the staging lanes. The wait was approx 15-20 mins before my turn and my IAT was around 120-125. After the burn out and staged at the tree IAT was around 135 I think I may have seen 138. By the top of 4th I took a peak and I think I saw 180 something. Both passes were similar in temperature results.
Pass 1
60ft 1.998 (did not spin but feathered throttle to get a feel for the track)
1/8 8.09
Mph 89.94
1/4 12.424
Mph 115.41
Pass 2
60ft 1.876 (smashing the gas in dyno mode)
1/8 7.98
Mph 89.06
1/4 12.35
Mph 113.54
How can I keep the IAT's down while waiting? During regular very hard street driving the car pulls very hard, and I never really see the IAT's go higher than 130's jumping on it from 85-90 degrees. Sitting in stop and go traffic today on the way home IAT's stayed at around 90-95 (78 degrees outside temp)
Any tips or pointers would be greatly appreciated, I was planning to go to the track next weekend but don't really see a point if I can't fix this.
