Question Bluetooth capability?

Is there a way to get your iPhone to play music using Bluetooth instead of using an ancillary cord? Has anyone figured this out yet on their SL?

To play music the bluetooth receiver has to have A2DP capability. Most cars before 2009-2010 don't have that. It can't be added normally. Something like this could be added through the aux connector though.

I have one of these. It works great with my iPhone. You simply plug it into the glove box 3.5mm socket and pair it with your iPhone. Switch your radio to AUX and enjoy. Great sound too.

iSimple ISFM22

Check this item and model number on ebay or Crutchfield. I just put one on my SL and wired it under the dash. It plugs into the AUX jack just like the others. Difference is that it is powered by the car, NOT a rechargeable battery. The ones referenced above (I've tried them) are a royal pain in the butt because you have to repower them on AND reconnect in your phone's BT options EVERY time you get in the car, even after running into the cleaners for five minutes!!! Also, the sound is stronger with this car-powered unit...a whole lot closer to the radio/cd sound level.

AUTO-RECONNECT is the only way to go. This model does not have phone call (microphone) but they have a model that does have that, ISFM 2301 or something--I just didn't care about phone, only music.

I can't find a model where this plugs into the AUX port. The model you listed only plugs in via FM adapter. Do you have another model to check out?

It has Aux plug

Sorry I did not mention, this unit I installed DOES plug into the AUX input. It has dual (red, white) RCA outs and you will only need a dual RCA to 3.5mm adapter cable for the AUX input jack. I got one at Radio Shack that was 24 inches and just kept it coiled up, but if you order with the unit from eBay or Amazon you
can get a very short cable that will be only 6-9 inches and more convenient to use. Remember the cable must have male rca's and male 3.5mm AUX plug.

Good luck,

Oh cool. I didn't see the RCA plugs until you said that and I looked at the pictures again.

2008 SL600
I just bought a 2008 Sl600 and it has the blutetooth module in the center console, but I don't have an aux jack in the glove box Is there anyway to connect an aux cable to the deck unit?
