Sl 73 Amg?

I keep seeing a slip of the lips in writings from AMG. Is there really a SL73 AMG in the works?

My daydream is that it is the SL600 BLOWN!

Anyone have simular visions?

(I did see a tuned version of the SL600 two years ago in CA that was rebored and fitted out to about 7L.)

V12 SL

I've had a V12 R230 deposit since 1998. I certainly hope that MB can foresee the coming competition and be proactive. The reliability of information concerning the new V12 mimics political promises. The rumor that the new V12 will be a "detuned" Type 12 gives hope. I do have some concerns over the additional complexity of blown engines. If Honda can routinely produce engines outputs in the 80-120hp/l range, why can't MB? A normally aspirated 6.0 l engine would yield 480hp, using the 80hp/l figure. I'm flexible, I'd be happy with "just" 480hp.

This 7.3 is the old V12. The new V12 (which not be availaible after this year) is a totaly differnent motor....unfortunatly.

But, expect a twin turbo V12 soon! That's what I'm hearing AMG is working on.

Can't wait.

AMG may offer a tuned version of the upcoming V12 (SL600). It will most likely be an SL63. AMG offered the R129 in an SL74 version.

That may have been for a very select customer from AMG. On the other hand, Renntech will make anyones R129 600 into a 7.4 liter monster with over 600hp if they've got the dough! My father has one that I steal on occasion. It is by far the fastest, most powerful car I think I will ever drive, and it gets driven every day. Supercar performance in Mercedes armor. What could be better!?
