Hello,
I'm a new member and thinking of buying a 2007 SL550. I've heard motor mounts and struts can be a problem. What else is problematic with this model/year?

I have an 07 SL550. Other than the normal stuff to look for, the ABC system is the one they say will most likely cost. I am not a fan of third party warranties, but they say there are some good ones out there if you do your homework. They say a fluid and filter change for it is the best way to extend its life. I have read that you should check the fluid, if it is clear and greenish (new) then someone has changed it. If it is dark, then the maint hasn't been done and is prob soon to fail on that vintage you are talking about and you should run, (don't walk, run).
I have had no probs with mine. Tell yourself when it goes it will be $5000. Either have the money or the warranty or don't buy in.
