Please help! Can I add keyless go if I have keyless entry?
I have a 2005 SL500 (R230) and it has the keyless entry, meaning the doors open, trunks open, without the need of physically unlocking it through the key. I also know the SL's that came with the Keyless start have the push button on the stick itself, mine unfortunately doesn't. Well MB now has the push to start button where the key ignition is. So I was wondering (please God) if my car has keyless everything except start, is there any way I can add the button at the keyhole and have keyless entry and start?
I really need someone to drop some knowledge on me here! I've been looking online everywhere and nothing is related to this. Please help!

I had same question. Went to the dealer to check, they said it doesn't worth it. 2003-2004 models had a separate key card for key-less start/entry. For 2005+ if it's not equipped - too much work and $$$ to do it. Mine has almost same as yours, plus it has the start/stop button on the shift knob. But doesn't have the system. Nothing to do here
But if you want to know for sure if your car has it we can do a VIN decoding here http://epc.startekinfo.com/epc/start.jsp
or give me your VIN and i'll post your car's equipment.

You could probably add the knob and enable the coding through star if the system is already there for keyless entry detection. Best to find a local independent mercedes specialist that is familiar with Star and would be able to try it.
