SL/R230 Cannot reset the trip meter

Cannot reset the trip meter

I tried resetting my trip meter after filling up last night and it does nothing. I was, however, able to reset factory settings, so I know the button works. Since I'm new to this world, I don't want to do something silly like disconnecting the battery if it is going to cause problems.

Any fixes?

NO LONGER ACTIVE

Mine takes holding it in for several seconds to reset. It's almost to the point that I think it isn't working, then an additional half-second later it resets.
