when I press the ESP switch I don't get the triangle on the instrument panel anymore

It's either the LED in the cluster that has failed, or the switch itself. It should be easy enough to check the LED - floor it so you break the wheel loose and watch for the indicator. If that works, then it's the switch itself. I'd remove the center console panel and check the wiring.

Oh, that's right! I forgot abut the lamp test. So, since it's working, I'd take a look at the switch. Here's the WIS doc for center console panel removal:
