SL/R230: Seat cover replacement
Seat cover replacement
Have anyone replaced seat covers on SL500? I tried my local upholstery shop and they quoted me some totally ridiculous number. So far I have found two places on the web that offer replacement covers:
https://www.lseat.com/products/2003-...ers-front.html
and
https://www.topsonline.com/model/Sea..._Chassis).html
Any experience with these guys? Any other suggestions, including links to prior topics on this subject will be greatly appreciated.

No doubt they are not. But I do not think that decent repair can be done on the rip I have in the bottom cushion. As for installation - I was going to remove covers regardless to fix bladders in the seats that do not seem to be working (most likely air leak).

I ordered a leather sample from lseat.com a while back for my wife's CLK. For the price of the covers I thought the leather samples were surprisingly good.
I make seat covers as a sort of working hobby and the leather alone would probably cost me around $290 for good automotive grade leather.
If they had the color I needed I would have ordered them.

you may also want to ask a dealer if they can order covers. I know bladders are custom order from a dealer and have a long lead time as they must be made in Germany.
