I have an early r230 sL500 made for the Japanese market. Online VIN decoders show either 200A and 201A interior code. The car itself has what looks like to be a two tone interior. It also has designo seat inserts in light grey, same color alacantara headliner, with the same material door inserts and the instrument binnacle also covered in the same material.
Would it be possible that these designo pieces where dealer installed options as they do not appear on the VIN decodes?

200A is an option code for leather. I'm not sure why that is listed separately from 201A which is "leather-black/anthracite". This does not appear to have different color inserts. Here's a car with the same codes:
