SL600 Upgrade project. Brakes, Lithium battery, Titanium exhaust etc
Hello members.
It has been some time ago when I had time to update here my projects.
There are a lot of new plans for what I have conducted, etc
At the moment I have started to upgrade my front brakes to bigger ones. SL65 AMG Black Series. ( Brembo have two types of this discs. Ordinary BS 390mm discs was heavier than which I have choose now). I took this because it was lighter but same size.
So the discs is now here. Brembos 390 mm discs. Its easy to upgrade it. Only thing has been to design a new adapter for this brake disc and brake caliber.
Now its ready and I'm waiting for the new adapter. The OEM adapter is made from cast iron and it's weight 2.2 Lbs. It's very heavy!
This new one its made from aluminium. Weight only 0,7 lbs. So I save also lot of weight.
The stock SL600 brake disc weight 35,70 lbs and it was smaller in dia. 360mm. This new 2-piece float Brembo 390mm disc was lighter. 30.40 lbs even if it bigger because the center its made from aluminium.
PS. If some one need this adapter let me know. Its fit al SL R230 cars. Also SL55AMG and I think its also fit CL 600, 55, 65 AMG.
