04 SL600 & 04 Range Rover
I took delivery of my 04 SL600
I flew to Seattle on Saturday May 8th. Barrier motors picked me up at my hotel in their Maybach. (Now that’s service!), and took me to their dealership to take delivery of my 04 SL600. I love it! I had a couple of sunny days for some “top down” cruising. My previous car was an 03 CL55. My first impressions are that it has a more refined feel to it than my CL. The car does feel heavier (it is by 112 lbs) and smoother than my CL. I love the torque of the V12. I have never driven an SL55 so I can’t offer any comparison input.
I left my car with Carnutz in Bellevue, WA. Since they are a RENNtech dealer, they are pulling the engine and transmission ECU’s and sending them to RENNtech today for their Stage 3 upgrade. I agree with others that the car needs a little more “oomph” in the throttle department. They are also “lowering” the car by about an inch. I am still debating new wheels. The 18’s that came with the “sport package” look too small after seeing about 10 Mercedes at their shop with 19’s and 20’s. The car will be shipped to Anchorage next week. I can’t wait to drive it with the RENNtech upgrades!
