SL/R230: Alternative to Pentosin CHF 11s
It is Penrite LDAS which is fully synthetic and a direct replacement for the Pentosin /MB 345 fluids.
From the Penrite website
"LDAS is coloured green and can be used as a direct replacement for OEM LDS fluids or it is a ready replacement for OEM Pentosin CHF 11S and can also be used as a replacement for LHM+ type fluids creating less inventory for workshops"
"LDAS is a Full Synthetic hydraulic fluid, especially developed for power steering, brake, suspension leveling and hydraulic suspension systems. It can also be used in shock absorber, hydro-pneumatic suspension, traction and stability control."
I got 10 litres for less than $200 ozzy which is $150 USD or there abouts.
The best price I could source Pentosil in Oz was $38 AUD a litre so great saving.

Whilst Penrite Oils HPR 5 engine oil has received Mercedes Benz 229.5 approval (https://bevo.mercedes-benz.com/bevolisten/229.5_en.html), their LDAS product is not listed on mercedes hydraulic fluids specification list (https://bevo.mercedes-benz.com/bevolisten/345.0_en.html). I'm not saying that it isn't any good or won't work (in fact I'm contemplating using myself), just that it's not approved by MB.
I also noted that the Penrite website only shows it being available in 1 litre containers, did you buy 10 x 1 litre or were you able to buy it in bulk? I'm keen to know where you bought it from.

I aligned both product specs and basically put a line by line through the spec detail......they had exactly the same product viscosity and temp ranges.
I will be happy to be the guinea pig

Ciao., Larry
There is a post somewhere here from an industrial chemist who went through every spec on both and concluded it is indeed a perfect replacement. That's good enough for me!
