Knocking Engine Sound SL550
I recently got my SL550 back from the dealer for service. One of the issues was what I described as a "Ticking" sound. They did not find anything wrong, but found some other issues that would have cost me $2300. Fortunately, I had a warranty to cover the cost. NOW, there is a Knocking Sound coming from the Right Side (it seems) of the engine when facing the front of the car. It does not attenuate with RPM. And there is no indication of an issue from the Command Display. I've attached a small video which when listen to, the knocking can be heard. The dealership said that it did not make that noise when they returned the car. But when they did return the car is the first time that I have heard this noise. I have since arranged for a retired MB Service rep to investigate (has his own shop now). Hopefully, I can attach the video with sound. Any clues would be very much appreciated.
