Thumbs up Help finding the part code

Hi all. I need to replace the star grille and the bracket on the front grill of my car ( SL350 2010 ) , R230 facelift .
VIN WDBSK5JW6AF163042.

Some people are saying I can buy only the star and the bracket separately . Others say the bracket only comes with the entire grille so I need to buy the grille ( mine is perfect).
I got both parts code :

STAR : 2518880086
BRACKET : 2308880060 (this code is on the part but Mercedes system do not recognize it .

Anyway, Let me know if you guys have any tip how to buy only these 2 parts. I've seen the W204 got a very similar star+bracket. Not sure if it fits on my car.

You guys can see what I mean on the pics.

Thank you all
Ricardo

Thats what happened to my car.

This is the bracket code

This is the star code

This is the "combo"I would like to buy

Thanks . However the star number is only for the star. I do need the bracket as well. That’s the problem . Mercedes only sells the bracket with the grille. I need to find any aftermarket shop which has the bracket separately

So what you are looking to purchase is the part in your last to photos, but for your MY2009+ facelift R230? That would beA2518880086. It is the chrome star which comes mounted on the black plastic "bracket". The whole thin just snaps into the grille. Note that looking at the numbers stamped on parts is not always a good way way to reference part numbers. Those are often numbers used internally by parts suppliers, not by MBZ But sometimes they do match. Like in the case, the number on the chrome part is the entire assembly, even though the black plastic "bracket' has a different number on it.

Thanks Rodney. However the Star piece A2518880086 doesn't come with the bracket . Its only the star.
Could you double check this info? Most of people are saying the bracket comes only with the whole grille.

There are only two parts shown in EPC for the grille - the star and the actual grille. The image in EPC shows this as the insert, and that's usually how it comes on other grilles, but then again, EPC shares images for parts and is not always correct there. So, if you have verified that it's just the chrome star, then yes, you have to buy the whole grills to get the insert. Of course it's a $450 part, so my advice is either (a) try to repair it with epoxy or "welding" back together, or (b) find a used one where other parts of the grille are broken, but that part is intact. Note that the pre-MY2009 facelift grilles won;t work, and since most of the aftermarket grilles are to upgrade those to the single-fin facelift look, you're probably going to need a genuine part.
