A friend wants to upgrade his new 04 SL500's rims. The car is black. Any pics of your wheels or ones that would look good on a black SL? 19" rims preferred.

tell him to get a set of HRE's most of them are nice and have it painted black with a chrome outline, i think that would look nice

I don't care for black rims on a black car. They look much better on silver cars.

I got a set of OZ Gallileo III, 20", 8.5" front, 10" rears on Michellin tires. They look really sharp on my 04 silver SL. The Tirerack website has pictures of a black SL 500 these wheels. The lip on the back wheels are around 2 inches, only around 1 in the front but they fit very well, no spacers needed. My car is in the shop right now getting spoilers on so no pictures are available. These are not very expensive compared to HRE's though I thought about the 546R's from HRE and the ART Star (II?) wheels too. both too pricey for me. Wald has a S3 Strifen wheels that are nice but again, price... If you got money to burn, look into them. Brabus probably the most expensive but I don't like them that much.

My car is a SL350, as far as i know the wheels would easily fit the SL500

I think they suit the car quite nicely, although i would like the car a bit lower.
