ROUGH RIDE

2011 SL. WITH 40K. recently noticed feeling every little rough spot on the road, like riding on bad struts. No abc light on, fluid looks bright green, no apparent leaks anywhere, just doesn"t have that smooth ride over the smallest road imperfections, tar strips, etc. Any suggestions?

Might be bad accumulators

I'd look at tire pressure.

I don't think an accumulator could cause a hard ride for three reasons: (1) according to the diagnostic software (DAS), a faulty accumulator will cause a soft ride, (2) ABC is probably inactive while traversing small road irregularities, and (3) if an accumulator were faulty you probably would see a momentary fault indication in the course of your daily driving.

Tire pressure is right on specs. Raised and lowered car several times, seems to have helped. Everything works as normal now I think. Thanks for the input. Prob just my imagination

NO LONGER ACTIVE
It could also be the tires themselves. Most low-profile tires start getting much rougher as the wear down to to 5/32 - 3/32 range.

Possible, but with 35 years in the tire industry, I think the tires are ok. I do know they tend to ride rougher when sitting up for a period of time without being flexed/ driven in, so as the ride has gotten better, I think all is good. Thanks for your reply. It’s just that when I notice any difference in ride j have the dread of the famous ABC PROBLEMS.. just a little paranoid

Rough Ride?

Could be a number of things, some obvious, and some not so obvious...

- Tires over-inflated?

- ABC System Failure or Problem?

- Engine or Transmission Mounts Collapsed?

rough ride

For my '03 car when I blew my rear large accumulator I did not notice a ride change (lost plenty of fluid which I replaced immediately as car was at rest). I drove it for a very short while till I got it replaced. What I noticed is how much slower car would rise when hitting the button. New accumulator fixed that immediately.. Rose promptly!! I believe though looking thru the forum members comments that "ride" results and blown accumulators are mixed on this "ride" topic. Some say bad ride.
