2004 SL55 AMG dealer is telling me my right front shock is leaking and needs to be replace. Very expensive $2,300. On line found new for $1,350, plus install, but not in stock needed to be ordered from Germany, same as what the dealer is telling me. My question does any company supply these shocks as an overhaul exchange like we do in the aircraft industry?

Yes, these are re-manufactured and are very good. I did my left front one myself. About $600. if I remember right. Search forum for more definitive info.

I presume you have a strut from Arnott. Parts.com was and may still be selling them at a discount to purchasing directly from Arnott.
