SAM unit replacement... need reprogramming?
Hi Guys.
I’m in the process of changing my SAM units as I have a cam bus signal fault to the ecu showing on Star.
having replaced a couple already do they need setting up properly or programming to the car?
my merc mechanic seems to think they are just plug and play but I’ve read they need to be programmed.
the only one that’s left to replace is the front passenger side and the other 2 thus far hasn’t effected the fault.
can anyone advise? many thanks

Out Of Control!!
If you have determined that the junk yard part is compatible and or functionally correct for the car via the VIN, than no coding is required, otherwise YES

I have a question about used SAM. I got one from the junk yard. My original part # is 164-580-25-01 The part they sent is me is almost the same: 164-580-24-01 Will this present any trouble if they are going to reprogram the front SAM?
