how to remove rear engine cover
time to check the engine air filters on my 2005 SL500 (R230)
I can remove the front engine cover easily but cannot see how to remove the rear cover.
Appreciate any help

SL 600
Cover should be held in by plastic piece and inserts into rubber bushings, lift straight up. As for the air filter they're held in by torx

2004 SL600
There are four steel clips in addition to the two pins/rubber bushings at the rear of the cover. Refer to AR01.10-P-2405LA (attached) for the approximate locations before pulling too hard on anything - you sure don't want to break this piece.
