Torque converter or ATF change?

My SL doesn’t start moving when releasing the brake in Drive. I have to give it gas to move. Everything else appears normal. Does it need a fluid change (105k miles) or is the torque converter letting go of the ghost?
Thank you,
Radu

I don't think mine start moving, either. Do you have the transmission in Comfort or sport mode? In Comfort, it starts in 2nd gear, so there is less torque available to get rolling. Regardless, I'd do a fluid and filter change. It should be done every 40K miles.

Rodney, than car is in Comfort so an ATF change should be done. I don’t have a problem taking the transmission out. I will have to take the 7g out of my W211 in a few weeks to replace a bad speed sensor a rear main seal and possibly the oil pump (I have a whining noise and it’s not the steering pump).

Whatever. But R said comfort > less torque available.

Yes, "Comfort" (f.k.a. "Winter") mode causes the transmission to start in 2nd gear, which means less torque is applied to the wheels at idle. It takes a bit to get a 4,000lb+ car moving.

Agreed. I keep mine in Comfort and need to give it a goose when engine is warm. I spun some gravel from my driveway in sport mode and discovered a great first gear torque on these cars. Not always needed unless you “want to get away “
