also, I do not sell laptops, I do not sell SDconnect, I do nit get commissions, I sell my IT and Xentry knowledge and give free remote Teamviewer support after install. I even do first codings sometimes all for free
I have all possible laptops and will video demonstrate de difference between the old slower intel Duo Dell 630 and the I5 X230 'that has touchscreen and can be fold like a tablet
20-30$ +- same price both
we are in 2019, soon 2020
some people suggested for years that 8-track was great audio gear ..... in 1974

I dont might paying for your services to walk me through the setup procedure as I am new to this.

yes of course get a X230 I5 from ebay (+-150$) 8 GB ram is good 16 GB is great
the ssd they send might have drivers for the X230
Yes you can just slide it in and run it
You might have a problem with startup if the your x230 bios is set to AHCI and no AHCI drivers on SSD
in that case you will get a bluescreen
just enter the bios with F1 or F2 on bootup and set it to IDE
then you will able to boot
then check if drivers are all present in device manager
if not get them here https://support.lenovo.com/fr/nl/downloads/ds030230
this is a IT pack and you will have to install them one by one in device manager
just point to the extracted C:\DRIVERS\SCCM folder once
I do not recommend installing drivers from their regular driver page as it will install plenty of crap and substantially slow down the OS !
When I install it takes me 30 minutes to prepare windows to receive the Xentry soft with a result of 25% more speed
If you need my remote service and support just pm me
good luck !
For those who want a good tablet laptop
what you need for a full install is X230 I5 8GB or 16GB ram and 256GB SSD (after full install the drive will be full 90%)
I DO NOT SELL ANY they are all over Ebay
I recommend ONLY genuine windows 7 Enterprise N x64 without cracks ! (free included in my install service)
I can do installs on WIN10 x64 as long as you have a real licence but I do not recommend this piece of crap as SDS OS
With all my best wishes,
The demurred contradicting charlatan (BenzNinja)

There is an ongoing thread at Benzworld which discusses the purchase of Star Diagnosis which began more than six years ago. The overwhelming consensus is to purchase a Dell D630 laptop along with software and hardware from China. Pmercury has challenged that consensus with allegations the software "deactivates" or otherwise fails, and the Dell is slow.
I have not read all 1100+ posts in that thread, but I feel certain there are very few if any instances of software failure mentioned. In regard to the speed of the Dell, I have made and uploaded a video for members to judge for themselves.
The video shows the Dell powering on and booting to the Windows Desktop. Since my car is an SL55, DAS is launched to communicate with the vehicle's ABC controller. Once connected I navigate to the level sensor voltages. DAS is minimized, and subsequently WIS, the EPC, and Starfinder are all launched.
Each application is quick and responsive. I have attached a screenshot of the Dell's "Commit Charge" showing just 1 GB of RAM in use despite all of those program applications open.

for those who bought a SDconnect clone
I recommend replace the stupid green RJ45 cable and buy a good 2 meters (78 inch) RJ45 cable
the junk green cable they provide will break your computer and sdconnect plug
it is junk, the clone cable of course

Who cares? Nobody maintaining an R230-vintage Mercedes needs what you are using. To wit, consider what Rodney wrote. He has a side business performing diagnostics and light mechanical work, and he professes to use a 2011 version of Star Diagnosis running on a Dell D630.
If you watched the video, then you are now aware that a Dell D630 is not slow and is quite adequate to its task. And the one I have was purchased last month for just $51 shipped.

If you are 100% sure you will never move on to a newer car yes
but most passionate swap cars like girls or have multiple cars
so if you buy something, buy something that does it all
DELL D630 is not slow with windows XP and DAS 2011 of course Old duo core processor goes with OLD XP and mini ram
run Windows 10 and you will see it won't even install with 2GB ram
You don't have to stick with vintage because you are vintage yourself
That is how you become a OLD man

I was searching *******.com and found your post. Curiously, you included your entire post here except for the very bottom of your post, which I have attached.
Sure, in this case you ask for no money, but there is a cost: one has to make two additional mouse clicks to feed your ego by giving "Thanks" and improving your "Reputation", or else you won't provide a password. How pathetic of you to grovel for approval in such manner.
Folks, earlier I mentioned *******.com as a site with good forum support for Star Diagnosis, and another is cartechnology.co.uk. Also, that Benzworld thread I mentioned in my earlier post is supported by a German who goes by "Paul600600", and he is very knowledgeable.
For those who may wish to avail themselves of pmercury's offerings but find the immaturity and conceit of a self-styled "Ninja" simply too insufferable, consider Paul as a resource. Apart from humbly lending free advice and assistance, I believe he has everything pmercury has to offer and perhaps more. Paul also repairs multiplexers.

What did you get to run the system, Dell or Lenovo?
If it’s Dell D630 with intel video than you may want to get one of the older drivers. I found 6.14.10.4926 to be very stable. Not so good in the 3D department but we are not here to play games, are we?
I’ll update the top post with other stuff.

so how do you go by activatig this thing? i got it all ready to go but starting a program just gives me no activation, i have to contact help support.
i got this thing for one thing and that is to activate the rodeo feature when doing ABC flush.
i am sure i will explore and learn other things on the way but right now i just want to activate the thing so i can do the flush this weekend.

My daughter took me to see Lion King yesterday. Above phrase is so true.
Just listen, it will change your point of view.
Disclaimer;
Does not work with the wife/ girlfriend honey do list.
Sarcasm aside, open tools folder, it’s all there. Read it carefully and don’t rush.
As Mr. Karl Benz would say, “Langsam langsam aber sicher”
(Slowly, slowly but surely forward)

Disable the network for now. Do one thing at a time. Concentrate on the installation.
Set your network type to public once you get to that step. Good night and sweet dreams.

You have to understand that
1 your laptop does not have any wired RJ45 network plug
2 Your hard drive has NONE of the Dell inspirion 3185 drivers
3 Your Ching Chong (who will soon rule the world and will use us as slaves) mother****ers prepared SSD has been set with network settings
the only solution is to get all the driver from dell for the installed version of windows. so Win 10 X64 Win10 X86 WIN 7 X86 or WIN X64
download them on a USB
then boot your computer without wifi on, or in "safe mode" (F8 key ) , install ALL
reboot
then you will still have a Ching Chong (who will soon rule the world and will use us as slaves) mother****ers installed system with no support but some kind of working
good luck
ps, I can do this by remote too
